Employ to Empower Cardboard Project 2.0 was a speaker panel like no other. Being in the dark room allowed me to listen attentively to every speaker's life story on addiction, mental health, and resilience to get to where they are today. You never really realize how much you can hear until your other senses are dimmed down. Being unable to see or be distracted by other factors in the environment, allowed me to truly hear and resonate with the struggles of people telling their stories. This was an unforgettable session of storytelling, and taught me better how to be present when people share their stories.
