"The greatest moment of my life was when I defended my Ph.D. thesis here at SFU. I really felt like I had accomplished something great. And it’s not only because of my research findings, which are important as well, but defending my Ph.D. made me feel like I could achieve anything I wanted. I’m sure other graduate students would agree that grad school is not always easy, and it was the same for me. I faced lots of challenges, especially at the beginning when you’re still trying to define and shape your research. But through a lot of hard work and with the help of my colleagues in the lab, I eventually found my path. Then, as I was getting closer to my defence date, I knew that I could do it. I knew that this was what I wanted, and that all my hard work had been worth it."
